Are you tired of not having money you need to properly care for your home and feeling a financial strain whenever the AC goes out or a natural disaster strikes?

If you have ever felt overwhelmed by the fact that you have more money going out than coming into your bank account, the solution may be as simple as changing your perspective. Applying Biblical principles to the way you steward your finances is likely the best approach you can take to changing your circumstances around.

If we manage our money in a way that pleases God, we will dig our way out of debt. It may sound laborious but it’s actually pretty simple: Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and He will give you everything you need.- Matthew 6:33 ~ See, God has already given us everything we need and the fact that you have debt does not necessarily mean you lack the money to pay for things you should have. Perhaps it is just the opposite: an indication that you have things to pay for that you do not truly need.

If you make a few positive and responsible financial changes in your life, you may be able to afford the things you actually need, such as home improvements and/ or repairs, all the while paying your way out of debt at a much quicker rate. Here are just a few of our real- life tips to get you started down the path to sound financial stewardship and eventual debt resolution:

$ Give to God the first fruits of your labor**pay God 1st

$ Deposit a percentage of each paycheck into a seperate savings account* pay yourself 2nd

$ Cook and eat as many meals at home as possible

$ Shop economically by using coupons> hone your creative buying skills

$ When preparing food, cook in larger quantities for leftovers> crock pot recipes are clutch

$ Shop at resale shops for beautiful and gently used furniture and other home furnishings

$ Shop sparingly for clothing; wear hand me downs- if you must buy go online or to discount retailers such as Ross, TJ Max, or Burlington> they are just as attractive and  durable

In short, don’t get caught up in “keeping up with the Jones’s”, you are your own Jones, wonderfully and fearfully made in God’s image (regardless of what the world deceives you into thinking).
